Abstract:
The resistances of three metallic resistance thermometers designed, platinum, copper and Nickel, were measured between 77.3 (L N2) and 300 K using a cryostat. Platinum thermometer was found linear throughout the temperature range, copper thermometer was linear between the temperatures 77.3 and 250 K while Nickle thermometer showed limited linear region, e.g. between 190 and 300 K. The resistance thermomters were found fairly reproducible and were calibrated against the cryogenic Linear Temperature Sensor (CLTS) thermometer.
