Abstract:
Reservoir Management is a robust process of decision making based on the technical information. This process commences from exploration, discovery and development of the field with marketing of petroleum products. Reservoir Management is directly affected or influenced by the technical background and vision of professional involved in exploitation of natural resources. The critical component of reservoir management is the integrated approach on the real time evaluation of the reservoir. Real time reservoir evaluation is based on acquisition of real time accurate and reliable surface and sub-surface reservoir data. Other important factor contributing to the reservoir management is the adequate analysis of data that leads to the important decisions that have major impact on the depletion strategy and economics of the field. Reservoir Management is dynamic process of re-evaluation of properties. Thus, core of the reservoir management is based on evaluation of data and its applications for the reservoir characterization, optimization surface facilities, cost and benefit analysis. In this paper, different case histories of better reservoir management will be presented. In addition to this, critical parameters effecting reservoir management, economics of the field and the methodology adopted for the better reservoir management will also be described.
