Abstract:
The catabolic byproduct of human purine, uric acid, is linked to hyperuricemia and cardiovascular events. It is broken down by the uricase enzyme, which was absent in apes and humans ancestors approximately 15 million years ago. The purpose of the current study is to check the association of blood uric acid levels of myocardial infarction (MI) patients to those of controls. The present investigation was carried out in Islamabad Capital Territory. The study was conducted on 83 individuals, 40 age-matched controls, 43 individuals were diagnosed with MI. Uric acid levels, risk factors, medical history, age, and ethnicity are all taken into consideration when gathering data. In the hospital laboratory, a chemical analyzer was used to perform a uric acid test. Employing an in vitro test to determine the level of uric acid in human blood serum. Serum uric acid has a cutoff value >7.2. Hyperuricemia and MI were found to be significantly correlated. Based on the findings of our study, a raised level of serum uric acid is associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes.
