Abstract:

This study was carried out to estimate the incidence of Salmonella pullorum in breeding stocks of poultry in and around Lahore. Spot agglutination whole blood rapid test was conducted in 8,453 birds from breeding stocks at various poultry farms of Lahore 427 (5.64%) reacted positively. S. pullorum isolated from ovaries and livers of 25 adult carrier birds, was subjected to detailed bacteriological studies.
