4x4 multipurpose logic gate/circuit for quantum hardware, realizing on the same outputs.

Abstract:
Significant advances are being made in Quantum Computing to bring them into reality and applicability. The standard set of universal reversible logic gates like CNOT, Toffoli, etc provide elementary basis for Quantum Computing. Reversible logic is motivated by low-power CMOS design, quantum circuits, optical computing and nanotechnology. A logic gate is reversible if and only if it computes bi-jective mappings function. Therefore, a reversible gate must have the same number of inputs and outputs, called its width, and the same applies to reversible circuits. In a combinational reversible circuit, all gates are reversible, and there is no fan-out or feedback. In this research, we propose a 4x4 multipurpose reversible circuit which can perform multiple functions depending on the control inputs. The method authors proposed reduces the cost of a given circuit, without increasing the hardware circuitry.
