Abstract:
These investigations were conducted with 2, 4, 6 and 8 days old Chrotogonus hoppers. The 2-day old hoppers were found to be significantly more susceptible to Azodrin compared with the hoppers of other ages, which had similar susceptibility. Thus the susceptibility variations, under reference, were found to have no direct relationship with age, but rather to depend upon a balance between the toxifying and detoxifying processes Based on these conclusions, the insecticide was recommended to be applied against the 3rd instar Chrotogonus hoppers only in the beginning of this instar, when it was the most effective against them.
