Abstract:
The objective of this work is to analyze the hydrodynamic instability of circular Couette flow. In this regard the equations of fluid motion have been developed and the appropriate boundary conditions are determined. The critical Taylor numbers are determined at which circular Couette flow transforms into vortex flow. Moreover a numerical algorithm based on finite difference technique has been developed. The numerical results have been compared with the analytical results from Chandrasekhar-and a good agreement is found.
