Abstract:
In N.W.F.P. there are seven tanning units both registered and unregistered and the only one unit i.e.N.W.F.P. Industries, Nowshera is semi mechanised. S. D. A is putting a highly mechanised tannery at Jehangira Tehsil, Sawabi District, Mardan with a processing capacity of 500 cow hides, 200 buffalo hides and 750 sheep/goat skins per day. For mechanical handling two bridge cranes and five high lifting electric fork lift trucks and plateform electric truck have also been provided. The completion of the projects of the S.D.A. would create an interaction between livestock, industrial and social welfare sectors on one hand and on the other would be interrelated with agrobased industry unering incentive to farmers, breeders to expand farming, breeding practices and raise their incomes.
