Abstract:
4.885 cows and 8.461 buffaloes were artificially inseminated. The semen used for the purpose was obtained from buffalo & cow bulls of various breeds maintained at the College of Animal Husbandry. Lahore. Dilution and shipping procedure for semen collection gave satisfactory results Marked seasonal variation was observed in the sexual behaviour of cows & buffaloes -while no seasonal effects were observed in the sexual activity of male animals. As a whole. field trials of artificial insemination were proved successful.
