Abstract:
Cottonseed oil, of all the edible fats in Pakistan is of greater utility and has larger demand and consumption as well. To make the refining process of crude cottonseed oil less expensive and economically more efficient, the by-products must be fully exploited. Soapstock and spent bleaching earth (S.S. and S.B.E.) are both valuable by-products. They need greater attention by the chemists, industrialists and governmental agencies concerned.
