Abstract:
Analysis of Sewage Characteristics are made to determine those constituents that may cause problem in its treatment and disposal, to aid in selecting the correct type of treatment process, or to show the degree of pollution and progress of self purification of a body of water with view to investigate such aspect, this study is proposed for the city of Peshawar. The data on characteristics and flows which this study aims to investigate will be of assistance in the selection of treatment process and for future expansion of sewerage system. For this purpose well known selected parameters for sewage and industrial waste will be investigated in accordance with Standard Methods including the sanitary survey. The mean BOD, COD and Suspended Solids for Peshawar sewage are obtained as 300 mg/I, 529 mg/I and 459 mg/I respectively.
