A note on the production, utilization, physical and chemical characteristics of cottonseed varieties commercially grown in Pakistan.

Abstract:
Cottonseed, a by-product of cotton has an annual production of about 650,000 short tons. It has many commercial and agricultural uses. Oil is used in manufacturing soap, cosmetics, glycerine, artificial leather etc. as well as for edible purposes; linters in yarns, varnishes, plastics and papers etc; and hulls for cattle feed and in fertilizers. Tables are given on variety-wise production as well as physical and chemical characteristics.
