A model to estimate power dissipation associated with the flow of thin films.

Abstract:
An experimental investigation concerning power dissipation associated with the flow of thin liquid films formed by a rotating disc has been conducted. The problem has also been considered theoretically and the following model is proposed to predict kinetic energy given to the liquid together with frictional power dissipation:- P= 1/2 (Re) (Tat). It has been found that the newly developed equation interprets the experimental results satisfactorily within an accuracy of + 5%.
