Talc-chlorite rocks in Attock slates.

Abstract:
Dark grey to whitish rocks from Attock Khurd, previously described as low grade soapstone, were found to contain talc with a subordinate amount of chlorite (penninite). Other impurities are quartz calcite, dolomite, magnesite and pyrite. The mineral assemblage has in all probability resulted from magnesium-containing solution of hydro-thermal origin acting on illite of the slate.
