Abstract:
During a search for alpheid shrimps in Manora Island, coastal waters of Karachi, Northern Arabian Sea, one male specimen of genus Alpheus was found. As this specimen differs from all the known species of genus Alpheus, it is considered new. The holotype is present in the Marine Reference Collection Centre, University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan.
