Abstract:
Six non-lactating Chinese goats (average weight 40±2 kg) fed low forage (LF) or high forage (HF) diets were used in a randomized crossover trial to determine the net flux of VFA across portal-drained viscera and liver for 8 h from initial feeding. Chronic catheters were established in mesenteric, portal, and hepatic veins, and femoral artery to measure the plasma flow by using p-aminogippurric acid.
