A cup-like structure: synthesis, crystal structure and anti-cancer activity of 2-(2-(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)acetamido)ethyl adamantane-1-carboxylate.

Abstract
A new 4,5-diaryl-1H-imidazole compound, C30H33N3O3, was synthesized and then its crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal symmetry is monoclinic, space group P21/c, with a = 9.0395 (18) Å, b =21.726 (4) Å, c = 13.042 (3) Å, α = 90°, β= 93.30° (3), γ = 90°, V = 2557.0 (9)Å3, Mr = 483.59, Z = 4. Data suggested the conformation of this compound was cup-like by generating centro-symmetric dimers through two N–H···N hydrogen bonds interactions and intermolecular π-π interaction. The anti-cancer activity of this compound showed significant anti-cancer activity.
