Abstract:
A solution complete with eigenvalues and Fourier coefficients is presented for unsteady-state diffusion through a spherical shell. The outer shell surface is impenetrable to mass transfer and inner surface held at the constant concentration. An example of water diffusing through porous copra illustrates calculation of diffusion coefficients from drying-rate curves.
