Abstract:
This communication presents measurements of activation energy of viscous flow, En, the temperature derivative of refractive index, -dn/dT, and the coefficient of dilation, on n-proply alcohol in the range of 18 to 60°C An analysis of mutual correspondence of these three physical parameters is made, as also comparison with data on other similar liquids reported earlier. It shows that while on the average the minima of coefficient of dilatation, are ahead of corresponding minima of -dn/dT and E by half a cycle, in case of these pure monohydroxylic alcohols, yet there are two distinct regions where this difference becomes of cycle and of a cycle, respectively.
