Abstract:

Nineteen species of blue-green algae belonging to ten genera, four families, four orders and two classes were collected from stagnant water ponds at different places of Sialkot City of the Punjab Province of Pakistan during 10th January to 30th September 1986. They were taxonomically determined and described for the first time from their place of collection. The genus Planktothrix and the species Anabaena viguieri are being reported for the first time from any area of Pakistan.
