Abstract:
The various pantothenic acid antagonists viz. phenylpantothenone, patoylaminoethanethiol, panthydrazid, a-methylpantethine, w-methylpahtothenic acid, at concentrations of 0.01, .0.05-6.0 mg/ml were administered to culture media of pathogenic protozoa, Trichomonas foetus. w-methylpantothenic acid had an inhibitory effect on the Trichomonas population, while phenylpantothe-none had comparatively a weaker effect on the development of trichomonades. Panthoylaminoethanethiol, panthydrazid and 13-methylpantethine had no visible effect on the trichomonade population.
