Abstract:
There is a wide scope for the utilization of solar energy in Pakistan. There are several fields of application of it where research and development are likely to bear fruit in the near future. One of the major problems to be solved is the storage of solar heat, when it is available on clear and partly cloudy days, to utilise this stored energy for the night and on cloudy days. Research on new type of inexpensive storage batteries is important to support the possible development of solar energy. It is hoped that the solar energy research will be encouraged here so that the abundant supply of solar energy may be still better utilised for the prosperity of the country.
