Abstract
The effects of environmental contaminants on human health have long been researched, but during the past 40 years, mounting data has shown that many of these contaminants are neurotoxicants that pose serious hazards to the developing central nervous system. During crucial developmental phases, children in particular are susceptible to these neurotoxicant exposures. This presentation highlights the significance of this subject by exploring many facets of neurotoxicant risk assessment. We will look at (i) cognitive and behavioral symptoms linked to disrupted molecular mechanisms, (ii) cutting-edge risk assessment techniques, (iii) developmental behavioral neurotoxicology`s implications for pediatric neuropsychiatric disorders, and (iv) future directions in understanding the clinical relevance of neurotoxic exposures and behavioral outcome. Incorporating public health, agriculture, e-waste, food safety, medical therapies, and neurodevelopmental disorders, this integrative session will provide converging viewpoints on neurotoxicant risk assessment. Our understanding of the functional effects of neurotoxicants and their connections to a variety of clinical illnesses will improve as a result of the new information provided by these methodologies.
