Abstract:
In the design of a new palletizing facility, the decision as to which additive to use and at what level generally has an important impact on the economic viability of the project. The availability and cost of different additive type s at each individual plant location along with the observed effect on pellet quality determines the best additive type and optimum addition level on the basis of economic and quality considerations. In a case study of high grade iron ore palletizing, it is shown that bitumen binder gives the high crushing strength of iron ore pellets, without a per-requirement of firing at high temperatures.
