A study of prevalence of malaria infection in urban areas of district Quetta, Pakistan.

Abstract:
This paper reports the prevalence of malarial parasites in the human population of urban areas of Quetta District. Plasmodium falciparum was observed to be with a higher incidence (16.31%) in the age group of 21 years and above. Mosquitoes of the genus Culex was found to be more prevalent (96%), genus Anopheles was observed to be 0.86% and genus Aedes was found to be less prevalent (0.43%).
