Nano Driven Strategies in Green Biotechnology for Sustainable Climate Solutions

Abstract:
The accelerating impacts of climate change, including rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall, soil degradation, and increased incidence of pests and diseases, demand innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and ecosystem resilience. Green biotechnology, integrating environmentally friendly practices with advanced nanotechnology, offers a transformative pathway to address these multifaceted challenges. This review explores recent advancements in Nano enabled strategies that enhance plant productivity, improve stress tolerance, and promote environmental sustainability. Nanomaterial’s, owing to their unique physicochemical properties, enable precise delivery of nutrients, agrochemicals, and genetic materials, thereby improving resource efficiency and minimizing ecological risks. Nano-fertilizers and Nano-pesticides have demonstrated superior performance over conventional inputs, ensuring controlled release, reduced losses, and lower environmental contamination. Similarly, nanotechnology-assisted plant breeding and genetic modification facilitates the development of climate-resilient crops capable of withstanding drought, salinity, and extreme weather conditions. Additionally, nanomaterial’s play a significant role in soil and water remediation, restoring contaminated agricultural lands and safeguarding water resources for long-term food security. The integration of Nano sensors with green biotechnology provides real-time monitoring of plant health, soil fertility, and environmental conditions, enabling data-driven precision farming practices. This review emphasizes the potential of Nano enabled green biotechnology to balance productivity with ecological preservation while addressing pressing climate-related constraints. It also discusses safety concerns, regulatory frameworks, and future prospects for large-scale application, paving the way toward a resilient and sustainable agricultural future.
