Abstract:

The effect of feeding sodium acetate and sodium citrate on the performance of broiler chicks was investigated. The chicks were randomly grouped into three groups, A, B and C and were allotted to three treatments in a way that each treatment was replicated in triplicate units. The same commercial ration was fed to all groups. From the second week onward of the experiment, the birds in group A and B were provided with drinking water containing 0.25 percent added sodium acetate and 0.25 percent sodium citrate, respectively.
