Abstract:
Alizarin complex (AC) was found to combine with the praseodynium ion in the ratio of 1:1 with the formation of a red coordination complex, exhibiting maximum absorbance at 520 nm. The value of the constant of this complex has been calculated using two different spectrophotometric methods, the continuous variation method and optimum blank compensation method, and was found to be 4. 8 and 4. 5 respectively. The type of bonding has been established on the basis of it spectra of the complex.
