Abstract:
The Trimmu-Sidhnai Link Canal is the first component of the Triminu-Sidhnai-Vlailsi-Bahawal System which connects the rivers: Chenab, Ravi' and Sutlej. By this system the waters of Indus, Jhelum and Chenab are conveyed to the ,Sutlej river and replaced a major portion of the Sutlej valley canals presently served from the Islam Barrage. It is designed to carry a full supply discharge of 11,000 cusecs. Its total length is 44 miles and it is unlined throughout. The brief engineering features of the canal like earth lining, canal sections, raising pond levels at Trimmu and silt control are discussed briefly. The structures of dredge basin bridges, drainage and Haveli canal relocation are also mentioned.
