Abstract:
Present knowledge about sibling species (especially in the case of plants), their biological behaviour, developmental genetics, and their speciation is, however, not enough to justify a correct evaluation of the actual significance of the sibling species to the morphological species concept. Further information on developmental genetics and biophysicochemical studies in both kinds of species might expose actual relation between the possible interrelation between the two speciations, if there be any.
