Abstract:
The complete larval development of aibanarius signatus HeIlr and ai-banarius virescens (Krauss) was followed in the laboratory. There are four zoeal stages and one glaucothoe stage in each species. Larvae of C. signatus are com-paratively smaller and require longer time to metamorphose. C. signatus takes 30 days to complete its development as compared to C. virescens, which takes 24 days. Description and illustrations of the zoeal stages and the glaucothoes are presented. Comparisons with the known larvae of the genus are made.
