Abstract:
An extract of the powdered aerial parts, was separated by column chromatography into three fractions, (a) taraxasterylacetate (b) lupeol and (c) taraxasterol. The isolated compounds were identified from IR, H.NMR (400 MHz) and mass spectral data. Further evidence for luppeol was gained upon acetylation with AC2O to give the acetate. The IR, H-NMR spectra R=AC and R=H were nearly the same as reported. GHK
