Abstract:
In the present study we conducted residual bioassay tests to evaluate the susceptibility of Coccinella septempunctata to the recommended field dose of deltamethrin (i.e., 50mL of insecticide dissolved in 200mL). We also studied the insecticide avoidance behaviour of C. septempunctata. Studied population was found susceptible to the recommended dose of deltamethrin as we observed 100% mortality after 24 hours of insecticide exposure. Results of Fisher exact test revealed a significant difference in mortality at different time intervals. C. septempunctata learned to avoid deltamethrin treated leaf surface after their repeated exposure to the same insecticide.
