The utilization of spent nickel catalyst.

Abstract:
Spent nickel catalyst can be utilized for the recovery of fat (58.%), nickel (8.%), filter aids (30.%), iron as an impurity (4.%). The fatty acid composition of fat as determined by GLC is C12:0 (2.2%), C14:0 (1.8%), C16:0 (37.4%), 018:0 (10.7%), C18:1 (42.6%), C18:2 (5.3%). The reactivated filter acid showed bleachability (64.5%) when reactivated at 350.
