Abstract:
The ionization constants of adipic acid in water from 25 °C to 50 °C at 5 °C intervals and in 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% v/v dioxane-water system at 25 °C have been determined potentiometrically. The influence of solvent composition and temperature on ionic equilibria of adipic acid has been studied. The ionization constants have been calculated by a computer program for overlapping pKa in GW-BASIC language which was written and developed in this centre. Significant influence of temperature and solvent composition on pKa values of adipic acid has been observed.
