Abstract:
Simple calculus of variation has been used to prove Stokes` theorem. The method has the advantage of revealing physically the equality of surface integral of x F to a line integral of F around the boundary enclosing an area. The proposed method can also be extended to a general case when the dot product is replaced by a general multiplication.
