Abstract:
The multidisciplinary field of smart antennas has become significantly important over the past two decades. In this paper Constrained Least Mean Square (CLMS) algorithm for marrowband adaptive beamforming has been derived. This algorithm is capable of efficiently adapting according to the environment and able to maintain the chosen frequency response in the look direction always while minimizing the output power of the array. The capability of the smart anternna systems to track the user with the main lobe and interference with the nulls creates a significant impact on the current and future wireless sensor networks. This paper includes the performance evaluation of the narrowband adaptive beamforming algorithm. The adaptability of the algorithm is closely observed for Uniformly spaced Linear Array (ULA). The results are supported by various simulations environments created in MATLAB like varying the number of antenna arrays and varying inter element spacing between the array elements.
