Abstract:
The expression for the total energy, (n, k) of electron, moving in elliptic orbits, in the Sommerfeld relativistic atom, has been reproduced. No simple straight-forward derivation for the said expression seems to have been presented so far. Derivation for the expression has been derived by a method based on analogy with the classical non-relativistic case and is presented.
