Abstract:
To study the effect of different dietary and environmental factors on the moisture contents of droppings responsible for wet litter problem in poultry sheds, an experiment was conducted on 280 Desi and 280 Commercial Layers. Each Desi and Commercial layers were divided into six equal groups. First three groups were given 15% protein with salt supplementation of 0, 0.75 and 1% and last three groups were given 17% protein with same salt supplementation. Daily feed and water intake and weekly weight gain were recorded at maturity. Moisture percentage in dropping, crop, intestine, caeca and carcass were recorded and level of Na, K, CI and HCO3 ions in serum was determined. Results indicated significant (P
