Ureteric reimplantation by Taguchi technique.

Abstract:
A prospective study of 25 patients with latrogenic lower ureteric injuries was conducted at the department of Urology Services hospital /PGMI Lahore. Urinary incontinence was the main presenting symptom seen in 96 % of patients. Abdominal hysterectomy was the surgical procedure causing ureteric injury in majority of the cases. Mean age of the patients was 37.5 years and the mean time of patients presenting in our department was 22 days. Ureteric reimplantation was carried out through Taguchi technique in all cases. Patients were followed at 4th week, 3 month and one year interval. Success rate with Taguchi technique was 96% and complication rate was 4%. Ureteric reimplantation through Taguchi technique was simple less time consuming with low complication rate.
