Abstract:

Objective: To study the relationship between work family conflicts and emotional exhaustions in health care professionals working with cancer patients. Methodology: A correlational research design and purposive technique was used to collect data from 90 health care professionals from oncology wards of three different hospitals of Lahore.It included 44 male and 46 female with age range of 20 - 60 years. Demographic information sheet, work and family conflict scale, and Copenhagen Burnout Inventory was used as assessment measure. Results: Work family conflict was positively related with emotional exhaustion in health care professionals working with cancer patients. Work family conflict was strong positive predictor of emotional exhaustion [ß = .45, p < 0.001]. However, no gender differences were found in work family conflicts and emotional exhaustion among medical professionals. Conclusion: There was strong positive link between the work family conflict and emotional exhaustion among health care professionals working with cancer patients.
