Abstract:
The subject matter of this paper pertains to lumped parameter representation of distributed flexible rotorbearing systems. Modelling rules for attaining optimum accuracy with lumped parameter representation are discussed. This furnishes the basic modelling knowledge of flexible rotor-bearing systems. This approach is applicable to all machines in which rotating elements and their support bearings are key components. This class of machines includes turbines, generators, motors, pumps, compressors, internal combustion engines, drilling machines, and high speed flywheels, etc.
