Abstract:
Spore germination and growth of Streptomyces atroolivaceus cultured in modified glycerol bouillon liquid shake culture were affected by exogenous application of plant growth regulators and the number of spores in the medium. Auxin, indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). kinetin and spores inoculated to the culture medium supplemented with IAA or kinetin promoted spore germination, mycelial elongation, dry weight and proteins of dry mycelia with optimal concentrations of 106 M IAA or kinetin and 3x10 spores, ml. The results presented suggest that IAA and kinetin act as regulators of spore germination and growth in S. atroolivaceus with mediation by an active substance(s).
