Abstract:
Advanced self-assembly technique which combined self-assembled with absorbing process to prepare the films of [Cntespim]X on Al surfaces was described. Compared with self-assembly technique, advanced self-assembly approach could obtain more hydrophobic surface due to their high compactness, while was more facile and more economic. In the meantime, the effect of chemical composition of ionic liquids (ILs) on wettability was studied. For a fixed cation, the effect of anions on hydrophobicity of [Cntespim]X was in the order: Tf2N−> PF6− > BF4− > Br−. When the counteranion was fixed, the value of contact angle (CA) was improved with the increasing of the chain length. It was found that the contact angle of advanced [C12tespim] Tf2N film could be up to 127±2° on commercial Al surfaces, while that of the corresponding SAM of was only 97±2o.
