Abstract:

Urea hydrolysis by the action of soil urease enzyme system was deter-mined for a three months duration in soils under different cropping patterns. Maximum activity was observed in forest soil, followed by samples from kaller grass nursery. Lowest activity was observed in rice field soil. Activity measured after rain exhibited no significant difference.
