Abstract:
A general model of PCC detector and its simulation on computer has already been developed and presented [1]. This paper utilizes those results in evaluating PCC detector for a strong, additive, Markov signal of small and large strength common to two independent white noise inputs. The results are compared with the correlator detector, which is its analog kind. the losses in hard limiting the data, used in PCC detector are presented as the cost of clipping. It is found that the cost of clipping decreases with the increase in signal strength. In another example, the PCC detector is analyzed for a small Markov signal which is common to two dependent noise inputs. In this case, the cost of clipping increases substantially with the noise correlation.
