A survey of the serum cholesterol level of the low and high income groups and its relation to heart disease in Peshawar region.

Abstract:
Serum cholesterol was determined in 100 healthy individuals each belonging to low and high income groups which ranged from 150-220 mg/dl and 150-260 mg/di respectively. Also serum cholesterol in 100 patients suffering from heart diseases were determined which ranged for 160-400 mg/dl. These studies indicate that diet plays a significant role in hypo and hyper-cholesterolemia.
