Abstract:
Part of the foundation of the modern systems is a desire to make optimum use of time. Presently most educational institutions still have manual, old and rigid result information system, which requires a lot of man power and likely to suffer from inaccuracy, lack of security and is time consuming. Students have to wait to put through an operator or visit the examination cell to get their results. The purpose of the project was to devise and implement a computer based system that is "Voice Activated Online Student Information System" with the integration of telephony and speech technologies in which information can be accessed through browser and telephone both. The system allows the caller with a choice enabled by pressing a single digit from the dial pad. The system consists of three parts: Direct Circuit Access: This part is constructed for "Examination Cell" Dialup Voice Response: Second part is constructed for students to get the information through telephone Internet Access: Third part is constructed for the students to get the up-to-date result information through "Browser". The student can have the same voice response facility through internet as in dialup response.
