Abstract:
Subdivision schemes are iterative formulas for generation of smooth curves and surfaces form initial control polygons and initial meshes. Subdivision schemes are used in statistics, differential equations, numerical analysis and approximation theory. In this talk, we will discuss the application of subdivision schemes in music industry. Music is the most popular industry of the world. The subdivision schemes are very useful for generation of new music patterns. We have checked the effects of complexity and arity of subdivision schemes in musical patterns. We have also discussed the behavior of interpolating, approximating and parametric subdivision schemes in music.
