Abstract:
Chemical characteristics of water of Tanda Dam Kohat, N.W.F.P. Pakistan were studied from May to August, 1986. Fluctuation in pH level, oxygen content (mg/1), Biochemical oxygen demand (mg/1/day), total carbon dioxide (mmol/l), total alkalinity (mmol/l) and. Ammonia nitrogen (ug/cm) were studied. The mean values for these parameter during the period were found to be 6.74 ± 0.04, 7.0 + 0.15, 0.11 ±0.13.4. 30 ± 0.15, 3.05 + 0.09 and 0.0435 + 0.0034 respectively. The limnological parameters of Tanda Dam during the study period were found to be quite suitable for aquatic life like warm water fishes.
